"Seat 14 F"
16 x 20 acrylic
I’m a window seat person. Even when clouds are thick, views in clouds range from serene to dramatic. The contrast between the clouds and the wings and engines of the plane is striking. Also, the contrast between the enclosed space inside the plan and the seemingly endless expanse outside sometimes makes an impression.
Another thing about flying through the clouds is the spatial disorientation that can be felt. It can be hard to tell how fast you are going, how high you are, or even your direction. Your senses can play tricks on you. Pilots flying on instruments sometimes have to fight this disorientation to avoid drastic consequences. So, if there is an off-kilter feeling to this panting, well, I kinda intended it that way.
I am scheduled to be at the Riverside Arts Market today from 10 to 3.
Have a good weekend

I'm a window seat person too. I like this nice tight abstraction!
