Nightmare?

(… or gestures from the dark)

“The Ghost in Her Dream”

16 x 20 acrylic 2025

I was playing with gestural strokes - in different ways on different sides of the canvas. Large liquid strokes, almost drips, on a large white space contrasted with darker, denser, primitive strokes surrounded by a blue field. I fashioned a suggestion of a face an eye - unfinished like a ripped mask. This ghostly face crowned with a mass of hair that connects from the with a stroke on the other side.

have fun imagining what you will from this. I hope you dreams are less ghostly.
